Prayer Tree at Shepherd's Dene
|
On the weekend of the 17th
April 2010, Wendy and I had the privilege of serving ‘on team’ at Shepherd’s
Dene for the first Durham Cursillo of the year. Cursillo means a ‘short
course’, hence the weekend. Great food, fellowship and deep spirituality
added up to a wonderful experience of God’s love for us all. We would
encourage anyone who has the time to take the opportunity to attend their
own ‘Cursillo’, they take place twice a year in Durham Diocese, in April
and October.
While there we naturally
had full use of the chapel, and you can see in the photo the Prayer Tree
which was bought with the proceeds from the coffee morning we at St. Gab’s
held to raise funds for them. What a wonderful resource and inspiration to
prayer this is, along with some prayer stools which are out of view, but
bought at the same time. The Warden asked us to pass on his thanks to you
all. |

A Gift for Easter

The gift of Healing -
knitted in love to restore hope
 |
What
a lotta Teddy's!!
These are the fruits of
a great initiative by the Mothers Union in Durham Diocese. Our very own MU
have been taking part and this growing family are the result of their
efforts. At Easter these Teddy's will be jetting off to Afghanistan where
they will be handed out to local children in Helmand Province by our
troops, where I'm sure they'll be loved by those in the midst of conflict. |
