Life and faith are
forever intertwined, and as Christian's we journey together each and every
day. We do not worship this cross, but what was achieved by the one who
died upon it. We cannot worship the cross because it is offensive, it
reminds us daily of our failings. Our journey through Lent into Holy Week
has brought us to our personal cross and we have searched our hearts and
minds in repentance personally and as a church. Now on Easter Day we
arrive at the open tomb and know that the journey was worth it, and this
journey will continue for the rest of our lives, thanks be to God.
John's pic's below
show scenes from the Good Friday witness and ecumenical service on
Tunstall Hill,
a green hill outside the City of Sunderland, and also scenes from within
our church during that day
when we undertook a journey of exploration within ourselves.
