On behalf of St Gabriel’s Church Council we are writing to all friends of St Gabriel’s, as well as the  organisations within it’s umbrella, in order  to inform you of the much needed repairs and alterations needed for our church and Community Centre and to ask you for some  support in this matter.

The amount needed to repair the roof and redecorate the walls and ceiling of the Church is £6,000.

The amount needed to replace an obsolete central heating system in the Church Hall Community Centre and to renew lighting, rewire and redecorate is £30,000.

In order to bring the Hall into line with Health and Safely Regulations and be pleasant for the people who use it and pay for its use - we need to act. The heating has been defunct for some months and must be replaced. It makes sense to do the other work at the same time. The Hall Complex is at the heart of our Community Outreach Centre which serves young people, self- help groups and the vulnerable in our community.

We have made the necessary enquiries and received relevant estimates for this but the bottom line is; that without the necessary finance we cannot carry out the work. Obviously this has been foremost in our minds and on the PCC agenda for some time because of the need to act.

We very much want to complete the work this summer.  May we ask all who have connections with our church to consider giving a gift or a pledge of an amount of money towards this vital work.   

We are holding a special church service - A Gift Day on Sunday June 21^st 2009 at 10.30pm and we hope that you will come along to worship with us if at all possible, and bring a Thanksgiving Gift or Pledge as we step out in Faith that the amount needed will be met with God‘s help and yours.
